Archiving Policy
Archiving Policy
To ensure the long-term preservation and academic accessibility of its published content, Al-Iraqia Medical College Journal (AIMCJ) has adopted a robust archiving strategy encompassing multiple preservation measures:
- Digital Preservation: All published articles are securely stored on Al-Iraqia University’s institutional servers, with routine backup protocols to ensure data integrity and long-term preservation.
- Institutional Repository Integration: Each finalized publication is systematically deposited into the official repository of Al-Iraqia Medical College / Al-Iraqia University, reinforcing institutional stewardship of scholarly output.
- Author Self-Archiving: Authors are actively encouraged to archive the final published version (PDF) in personal, institutional, or discipline-specific repositories immediately upon publication, contingent upon proper citation of the journal version.
- Metadata Preservation: Essential bibliographic metadata—including abstracts, keywords, and Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs)—is preserved across multiple indexing platforms to enhance discoverability and citation longevity.
- PKP Preservation Network (PN): AIMCJ benefits from the PKP PN’s complimentary preservation services, available to journals operating within the Open Journal Systems (OJS) framework and meeting basic eligibility criteria.
- National Archival Registration: Iraqi National Library and Archives under Deposit Registration Number: 2871-2025.
- Editorial Contact: For inquiries related to archiving or preservation, stakeholders may contact the editorial office via the journal’s dedicated email: [email protected].
Through its open access policy and systematic archiving practices, AIMCJ guarantees that all scholarly materials remain permanently available, reliably citable, and safeguarded for future scholarly use.
